Year 3: Easter Cards - April 2023

Year 3: Gallery Oldham - July 2023

Year 3 had a brilliant day at the Gallery Oldham where we met our friends from Mayfield Primary School. We started the day by sketching portraits of each other, then we explored one of the galleries. After lunch we collaborated to make two fantastic banners.

Year 5: L.S. Lowry Art Gallery - February 2024

Year 5 visited the Lowry in Salford on Tuesday 13th February. The children took part in an art workshop with a professional artist, working on skills that Lowry used in his masterpieces. Year 2: Picasso - April 2024

In Art, we have discussed the work from Picasso as a group and presented our thoughts to the rest of our class.

Year 4: Christmas Crafts - December 2024

In Year 4 we have enjoyed carrying out a range of fun Christmas activities. We began by making some personalised Christmas baubles to sell at our Christmas Markets after school. We then made our Christmas calendars using the Pointillism technique, that we learnt in our Art topic this half term. We then used glittery thread to make our Christmas cards. We have been very creative and had lots of fun while carrying out these activities. 

Year 2: Abstract Art and Cubism - February 2025

Year 2 have been looking at abstract art and cubism, exploring the work of Picasso and Paul Klee. We used Klee's painting 'Castle and Sun' from 1928 as inspiration for our artwork, printing geometric shapes using potatoes and carrots! We had a brilliant time! 

Year 4: Banksy - November 2025

We have enjoyed learning all about the anonymous artist Banksy and creating our own artwork using his techniques and style. We experimented with a range of different textures to create interesting backgrounds, and we used different shading styles when drawing our designs. It was exciting to express our ideas and create art inspired by Banksy.

Reception: Polar Express Day - December 2025

The Reception and Year 1 children had a wonderful morning celebrating Christmas with their Polar Express Day! The children enjoyed dressing in their pyjamas, creating Christmas tree collages, decorating biscuits and cutting and sticking to make the Polar Express train! 

Year 1: Polar Express Day - December 2025

Year 1 children had a wonderful morning making their Christmas cards earlier in the week, before joining Reception to celebrate Christmas with a special Polar Express Day. The children loved dressing in their pyjamas, creating Christmas tree collages, decorating biscuits, and cutting and sticking to make the Polar Express train together!

 

Year 2: Christmas Fun - December 2025

We enjoyed making our reindeer Christmas cards from egg boxes and twigs we found in the church garden. 

We had a brilliant time getting creative for our Christmas Markets. We made coasters using epoxy resin, glitter and Christmas charms with out photos inside. 

Year 3: Brilliant Buildings Topic - January 2025

The children have been learning all about Helen Bradley, a famous local artist. We learned about how she created a 3D effect when drawing buildings. We experimented with different sketching techniques and used different grades of pencils before sketching our own interpretation of one of Helen Bradley's pictures of Lees. 

Year 1: World Book Day - March 2026

To celebrate World Book Day, the children created short paper chains of people. They decorated them in a range of shapes, sizes and colours, showing creativity and care. The children enjoyed joining their individual chains together to make one long, colourful class chain.

Year 1: Jackson Pollock - June 2026

Year 1 enjoyed learning about Jackson Pollock and his drip painting technique. They created their own colourful artworks by splattering and dripping paint in different ways.
