Year 4: Raiders and Invaders Topic - October 2023

During our Raiders and Invaders DT topic, we enjoyed using a range of skills to construct our very own Viking Longboat. We all enjoyed taking part in this activity and working hard to adapt and overcome any challenges that we faced.

Year 2: Hairy and Scary Monster Puppets - October  2023

In our Hairy & Scary topic, we have been planning our monster designs, colours and materials to be able to create our 'final product'. We used a range of materials and learned how to sew the puppet together then used our plan to create our monsters!

Year 3: Bird Feeders - January 2024

Year 3 enjoyed making bird feeders out of plastic bottles. We found out that it is important to recycle materials if we can.

Year 2: Monster Puppets - October 2024

Year 2 had a brilliant time creating their monster puppets. We learned to sew around the edge with wool, then add our decorations. They look super on our display!

Year 3: Brilliant Buildings - January 2025

The children learned about famous buildings and landmarks from all over the world. We discussed the structure of the buildings and created our own models. We found out that triangles are the strongest shapes to use when building structures and that's why you can see them on famous buildings like the Eiffel Tower.

Year 2: Hairy and Scary Monsters - October 2025

Year 2 have been planning, designing monsters as part of our 'Hairy and Scary' topic. 

Year 3: Junkyard Challenge - February 2026

In our Junkyard Challenge topic, we have planned, designed, created and evaluated Bird Feeders made from rubbish. We thought carefully about which materials would be best to use, how to join them togethers, the aesthetics of our design and how it needed to work. 

Year 1: Superhero's in Trouble - February 2026

The children planned, designed and made their own boats as part of their DT learning. They worked carefully to create their designs and then tested them in water to see whether they would float or sink, showing curiosity and perseverance throughout!

Class 5: Applique Totes Bags - June 2026

Year 5 enjoyed a visit from a local artist and designer, Claire Louise Mathers, who helped them to design and sew their own tote bags. We persevered to attach buttons and applique, even in the heat! And don't they look amazing!

Year 6: Business Challenge 'Fidget Factory' - June 2026

Year 6 have been busy designing and making their chosen business challenge product - fidget key rings. They will be selling their product at our Summer Fair on Wednesday 1st July.

Year 5: Phone Cases - July 2026

Year 5 put their sewing skills into practice to design and created their own phone case. How amazing do they look? Great creativity and plenty of perseverance shown, with a fabulous fitting product at the end!
