Year 3: Victorian School  - June 2024

Year 3 had a HORRIBLE day at George Street Chapel on our school trip! Victorian school was tough and we had to do all the washing and hang it up with our home made pegs. We learnt about how Victorian children were up at 4am and had to work long days at school and then in the mill. We did some writing with quill pens and made some peg dolls, then worked as a team to make a huge jigsaw.

Fortunately, we were allowed to use the modern toilets and didn’t have to go on Tommy’s bucket!

A big thank you to the chapel staff and of course, the lovely Mrs Roebuck who gave up her time to come with us.

The children enjoyed finding out a lot of interesting facts about how they were made, and what they did and did not contain inside. We all had a go at making our own representation of a Tudor House at home.

Year 3: DEVA Roman Experience - March 2025

Year 3 had an amazing time visiting the DEVA Experience in Chester during our Roaming Romans topic. The children developed their knowledge and understanding of how the Romans influenced life in Britain. Our favourite part of the day was marching through Chester as Roman Soldiers!
