The Ethos Committee have now been elected from Year 1 to Year 6.

What do our Ethos Committee representatives do?
Our Ethos Committee representatives are an integral part of our school family and the committee is made up of children who work with adult support to enrich the Ethos of our school and shape the Christian character of St Thomas’ Leesfield. Our motto – To Be The Best We Can Be In The Sight Of God - underpins every decision we make in school and the Ethos Committee support the school, so that our vision is a golden thread running throughout school, and constantly evolving.
This year, the Ethos Committee have continued to work hard embedding our new school Christian Vision and Values, inspired by the theological roots of Galations 3:28, ‘You are all one in Christ’. We meet each half term to discuss the School’s Values and Ethos. As representatives, we offer suggestions for Collective Worship and are great role models for the other children in our school family. The Ethos Committee also share their experiences with the whole school; help organise special events; work hard to gather ideas from all the members of our school community about how we can develop our school vision; share information and positivity through our school newsletter and review and develop our Collective Worship.

Ethos Committee Initiatives Autumn and Spring Term Initiatives 2025-26
The Ethos Committee have been working hard and are excited to introduce our new Faith in Action Award, which celebrates children who live out our school’s Christian Values in their everyday actions. This award recognises pupils who demonstrate values such as courage, respect and responsibility both in school and in the wider community.
Each week, the Ethos Committee will look for children who demonstrate these values through their behaviour, actions and attitude to learning. We hope this will encourage all our pupils to shine as positive role models and to put their faith into action.
We look forward to sharing and celebrating these special moments with you and our school community in our Collective Worship on Fridays.
School Prayer - January 2025
In our meeting today, we looked at our new Christian Vision and Values and picked out some key ideas that we would like to implement into a new school prayer. We will work with Mr Hill to develop these ideas so we can introduce the prayer to the rest of school later in the year.
Spiritual Spaces - November 2024
In today’s meeting, we worked on developing the Spiritual Spaces in our classrooms. We want to make the Spiritual Spaces more interactive for the children in our classes so we made a list of ideas for the teachers to choose from and also made some useful resources.
