School Council 2025-26
The School Council have now been elected from Reception to Year 6.

We have now started our meetings with our two representatives from each class. Please see below to find out our members and what our job role entails.

LSG Litter Heroes Collaboration - March 2026
On Friday 20th March, the School Council were joined by members of the LSG Litter Heroes, as they embarked on a litter pick around Lees. One of our aims for this academic year is to promote respect for our school and community environments and what better way to do this than by getting out and about, cleaning up the community.
What do School Council do?
Two pupils from each class represent their year group on our School Council. The School Council meets with Mr. Whittaker regularly over the school year to consider how to improve our school even further.
The school councillors are elected by the children in their class:
- We go to school council meetings and take part in discussions.
- We feedback on the meeting agendas to our own classes.
- We take the views of our classmates to the school council – via the ‘Suggestion Sock’ and ‘Worry Welly’.
- We are firsthand involved in the projects that we run.
Last year, we had an extremely successful School Council.
- We continued to develop our school’s spiritual spaces, such as the Reflection Room and the First Reflection Space. We want as many calm and safe spaces around school as possible so that everyone in our school family can feel safe and that their wellbeing is valued.
- Organised lots of FUNdraising activities, including ‘Break the Rules Day’ and other non-uniform days to help with donations for our Christmas Markets and Summer Fair.
- Continued to develop the positive lunchtime reward system, suggesting great themed activities for the houses which collected the most tokens. Events included a trip to the park, a craft afternoon and a water fight!
- Helped to improve our outdoor play equipment by conducting surveys with each class and ordering new resources so that our playtimes are fun and safe!
- Ordered new reading resources for our school library.
A School Councillor is...
- Committed and determined to make a difference.
- Always thinking about ways to improve our school.
- Prepared to talk to children, staff and visitors about the school council.
- Willing to learn new skills and develop their character – including resilience, confidence and independence.
- Excited about ideas and initiatives that the school council can carry out.
- Able to listen to other children’s' views, and appreciate and understand them.
- Caring about school and wanting to improve it.
- Equipped for life in modern Britain: by being responsible, respectful, active citizens who contribute positively to society.
Academic Year 2025/26 Considerations
- Organise a whole-school sport fundraiser.
- Help to look after our community by supporting litter picking initiatives.
- Look into ways to improve our outdoor space, in the main school playground.
- New items on the school dinner menu.
- A summer disco.
- Opportunities for the Houses to meet up more regularly.
- VIP lunchtime treats.
