Aims
It is our policy that all children should wear clothing that is in keeping with purposeful learning ethos. We also believe it is important that certain activities are facilitated by specialised and appropriate clothing when attending school, or when participating in a school-organised event outside normal school hours.
Aims
Our policy for school uniform is based on the belief that a school uniform:
- promotes a sense of pride in the school
- engenders a feeling of community and belonging
- is practical and smart
- identifies the children with the school
- is not distracting in class (as fashion clothes might be)
- makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance
- is regarded as suitable, and good value for money, by most parents
- has been designed with health and safety in mind
- is non-gender specific – personal choices/options are supported.

Additional Information
Every child must have a royal blue book bag preferably with the school logo. Pupils should not wear boots/trainers on non-PE days throughout the day. If the weather is bad and boots need to be worn for the journey to and from school, normal shoes should be brought to change into on arrival. On safety grounds, children are not allowed to wear any jewellery. The only item allowed is a watch for the junior children. Long hair needs to be tied back. Hair bobbles and headbands in school colours and suitable/appropriate size. This is for comfort, safety and to avoid distraction. Closely shaven/patterned shaving/dyed hair is not acceptable for school. School will ask for it to be corrected immediately. Make up and cosmetics are not considered appropriate or consistent with our school uniform. The school does not permit such products to be worn by any children, unless there is a specific event for which the Head has given permission. All clothing and footwear should be clearly labelled with your child’s name and we recommend that attention is paid to the care label inside each garment.
