All children at St Thomas’ Leesfield are part of a School House Team. Our House Teams are named after past Headteachers. Each week, children collect House Points (Y2 – Y6) or Stars (Rec – Y1) for their Team and recognition is given each week to the Team who score the most points. We have a House Points trophy, where the House Captain will put the winning House’s ribbons on each week in Monday’s collective worship.

Four children from Year 6 are elected by the headteacher and the other school staff members to represent and play an active role in championing our Houses – Ireland, Jones, Bevan and Daniels. The role of a House Captain is one of a privilege, pride and responsibility and provides a young leadership opportunity for the elected children.

Our House Captains contribute a wide range of skills and ideas to the role. All House Captains are expected to model our School Values, British Values and Christian Values to our children and School Community.

Their Role involves:

• Sometimes taking the lead role in collective worship and church services – focusing on key themes and Christian Values.
• Inspiring the children of their House.
• Leading and supporting the children in their House in a variety of House Competitions.
• Being an excellent role model in behaviour and attitude at all times.

Promoting the school’s Christian Vision and Values.
